On August 4, our community experienced a heartbreaking tragedy. Kirsten Castle, a 37-year-old expectant mother, lost her life—and that of her unborn child—due to domestic violence in San Mateo. Kirsten, remembered for her strength, determination, and resilience, leaves behind four children.
The Kirsten Castle Emergency Fund was established November 16, 2024. Kirsten’s family and people whose lives she touched partnered with CORA to honor her legacy and support survivors of domestic violence. The fund was launched with gifts of over $2,000. Together, we aim to create a future where safety, healing, and hope are within reach for all.
